Male Breast Cancer: A Single-Center Experience

Objective: Male breast cancer (MBC) is a rare disease, accounting for less than 1% of and male cancers. Because the low incidence, most clinical decisions MBC have been derived from experience treatment in females. generally detected advanced stages due to lack social awareness as it occurs In this study, was aimed compare our with current literature. Methods: This study retrospectively reviewed 21 men who were diagnosed between January 2008 2018 at Department General Surgery Mersin University School Medicine, Mersin, Turkey. Results: Unilateral malign lesions identified patients that 17 are primary 4 metastatic lesions. 15 underwent surgical treatment, 2 directed neoadjuvant treatment. Simple mastectomies performed cases. 7 directly addressed axillary lymph node dissection (ALND), sentinel biopsy (SLNB) 8 patients. had tumor positivity settings SLNB, further ALND subsequently these None developed local recurrence 24-month follow-up (range 6-96 months).
